A WEST of Scotland hospice has been rated highly in a snap inspection.
St Vincent's Hospice in Howood, Renfrewshire, was rated "very good" for care and support, environment, staffing, management and quality of information.
The hospice provides palliative care to people over 18 in Ren-frewshire and parts of Ayrshire.
Inspectors said the service provides a very high standard of care, treatment and support to patients and relatives.
The report by Healthcare Improvement Scotland described workers as a "dedicated and caring team of staff" who were focused on providing care and comfort to all patients and relatives.
The unannounced inspection was carried out on February 24 and 25.
Feedback from patients included: "They do so much, nothing's a bother, it's the kindness."
The hospice has been asked to develop an adult support and protection policy with training for staff in recognising and referring adult protection concerns.
Inspectors also issued four recommendations, including improving record keeping and improving bathing facilities for patients.
The hospice has eight en-suite bedrooms, four of which have a stay-over area for families to use.
