AN OVERTURNED lorry is causing travel misery for early morning commuters.
The articulated vehicle flipped on the M80 at junction 6A between Haggs and Castlecary at around 6.50 am this morning, causing tailbacks.
One person was taken by emergency crews to Forth Valley hospital, but it is yet unknown whether they were the driver of the vehicle.
Police are currently at the scene directing vehicles.
Two lanes have been closed and traffic is travelling along the hard shoulder, with northbound traffic at a complete standstill.
One commuter travelling into Glasgow said: “ The traffic is just standing still, right back to junction 4.
“The accident looks terrible, the lorry really is overturned.
“I’ve just passed junction 4 on the M80 and the traffic is meeting all the traffic heading north.
“People have got massive tailbacks so people travelling in to work, I don’t know how they can best avoid it.”
Many commuters took to twitter to vent their frustrations, with some referring to the motorway as a “car park”.
One motorist trapped in the jam said: “it's not very good at all, been here for 45mins en route to Dundee” while another added: “It’s 5mph stuff.”
