Rail bosses are to run extra trains to help St Johnstone and Dundee United fans get to and from the Scottish Cup Final at Celtic Park.

First ScotRail said special trains on May 17 will have enough seats for more than 2000 fans.

Up to six outbound services will run to Glasgow Queen Street; provisionally timetabled to leave Perth between 9.30am and 11am and Dundee between 9.40am and 11.30am,

Network Rail engineering works planned more than 18 months ago mean the usual routes are closed on the day.

But the companies have worked together to identify alternative routes to ensure all fans who want to get to the game by train are able to do so.
