FOR one month only, dining out wil help improve the lives of others.
Throughout May, book a table via 5pm.co.uk and you can automatically make a donation to the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice Brick by Brick Appeal.
Glasgow Restaurant Association's (GRA) Dinearound campaign hopes to raise more than £5000, which will go towards the £100,000 already committed to build the kitchen at the new hospice to be built on the east side of Bellahouston Park.
To date, GRA has raised more than £22,000.
Ryan James, chairman of the Glasgow Restaurant Association, said: "It seems really appropriate that as an association we are involved with raising money to build the kitchen in the new hospice at Bellahouston.
"The kitchen is the engine room of our businesses and at the heart of a family home.
"The same will be true of the kitchen at Bellahouston, where whatever the needs and desires of the clients they can be satisfied at any time of the day, making a difficult situation a little easier to bear and a lot more like home."
Backed by the Evening Times, the Brick by Brick appeal was set up to raise the money to build the new hospice facility.
In addition to enhancing existing services for adults, for the first time it will also include a specialist palliative care service for young people aged 15 and over.
Heather Manson, fundraising manager at the hospice, said: "It is a pleasure to work in partnership with the GRA in support of the Brick by Brick Appeal.
"The drive and enthusiasm for the work of the hospice is fantastic and we are delighted with the commitment shown."
Charles Shaw, chairman of 5pm.co.uk added: "The Dinearound event not only allows diners to enjoy Glasgow's top restaurants at great value prices, it also raises money for a very worthy cause."
Earlier this year GRA launched the Glasgow Cooks Better cookbook to boost hospice funds. Celebrities including Ken Stott, Alex Norton and Carol Smillie and GRA members contributed to the book, which showcases recipes for some of the most popular dishes from many of Glasgow's top restaurants.
