A GLASGOW music festival has joined more than 20 others in banning the sale of legal highs on site.

Summer Sessions in Bellahouston Park, along with T in the Park and 22 other music festivals across the country, are also to take part in a digital blackout today to highlight the danger of the designer drugs.

The websites and social media accounts of the participating events, which also include Bestival, Lovebox and Global Gathering, will go dark for the day.

Users who log on will see a black page with a grey lightbulb, displaying the slogan Don't be in the Dark about Legal Highs.

The Summer Sessions is Scotland's only annual outdoor city music festival. Dance star David Guetta headlines on August 16 and US rockers The Killers top the bill on August 18.
