FREE tickets for a careers academy featuring Sir Richard Branson are available from today.

The Radio 1 Academy, organised as part of the Big Weekend music festival, will be held in Glasgow University's Queen Margaret Union from Saturday, May 10.

The Virgin owner will host a question-and-answer session with 16 to 19 year olds in a bid to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Emeli Sande and Biffy Clyro are taking part and Glasgow comedian Kevin Bridges will also run a comedy workshop.

Radio 1 bosses have today revealed that Sam Faiers from ITV show The Only Way is Essex has also signed up along with musician Tinchy Stryder.

The free tickets for Radio 1's Academy are available from today at 10am from the Queen Margaret Union.

Young people living locally in Glasgow, from Scotland or the rest of the UK, can also book sessions online.
