ONE of Britain's biggest garden centre chains hopes to grow business by tempting children to grow fruit and vegetables.
Primary school pupils are being invited on educational store tours at the Braehead retail centre of Dobbies as part of a new iniative in support of Tesco's "farm to fork" project for kids.
The UK's largest supermarket chain owns Dobbies.
Lorraine McKay, who is based at Braehead, said: "We're really excited to welcome primary school children into our garden centre and help them to explore the wonders and benefits of growing their own.
"Our garden centre is a fun environment for kids to learn about the growing process and how fruit and vegetables get from plot to plate - and we'll hopefully spark an interest that will last a lifetime.
"We'll be teaching children how easy and fun it is to grow their own fresh produce."
