EVEN the city's movers and shakers admire the Glasgow Pyramid.

Professor Lesley Sawers is vice principal of Glasgow Caledonian University and is its pro-vice chancellor for business, enterprise and innovation.

She said: "As one of Glasgow's most loved and distinctive retail landmarks, St Enoch Centre has played a leading role in ensuring Glasgow's position as a global tourism and shopping destination.

"Congratulations on 25 years of contributing to the economic success of this city."

Stuart Patrick, chief executive of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, said: "The centre continues to be a prominent part of our city's thriving retail industry.

"The centre has served the city for 25 years and has contributed to Glasgow's continued status as the best shopping destination in the UK outside of London, consistently attracting major high street brands.

Gordon Matheson, leader of Glasgow City Council and chairman of Glasgow City Marketing Bureau added his birthday wishes: "Congratulations on 25 fantastic years - 2014 truly is a momentous year of celebrations for Glasgow.

"In the past 25 years, the quality of shops and service on offer at the St Enoch Centre has played a significant role in growing and consolidating Glasgow's position as Scotland's style capital."

Ann Moulds, our Scotswoman of the Year, is a regular shopper there. She said: "I would like to thank all the staff at the St Enoch Centre for sponsoring the Scotswoman of the Year Awards 2014 and their ongoing support. It will always hold a special place in my heart."
