THE SNP has been accused of pandering to the party's leadership rather than trying to hold the government to account.

Opposition parties vented their anger after the SNP blocked a Holyrood committee report criticising police reform.

Two versions of the Public Audit Committ-ee report were publish-ed - one by the SNP majority and another "minority" report with additional criticism of the move to a new national police force.

The SNP said the attack ignores improve-ments and savings.

SNP MSP James Dornan, who sits on the committee, criticised the opposition, saying "This is nothing more than sheer political opportunism from Labour."
