There isn't a paparazzi in sight, there is no glitz or glamour, and you are more likely to be served a cold pint of Tennants than a flute of champagne.

But that hasn't stopped Glasgow's King Tuts from becoming the city's top spot for bumping into a celebrity.

Opera singer Katherine Jenkins is the latest star to visit the famous venue, which is famed for showcasing the talents of an unsigned Oasis.

The Welsh beauty posted a picture on Instagram last night of her recent visit to the St Vincent Street Venue.

King Tuts manager Davie Millar said she visited last week to support Glasgow singer TJ Bilham who played a gig - as he and Jenkins share the same management.

But she is not the first A-lister to be spotted there in recent months.

Davie also confirmed Miley Cyrus entourage took in a Teleman when her Bangerz tour came to the Glasgow Hydro last week.

He said: "I don't know if Miley was here because I didn't see her but her entourage definitely was."

The Evening Times online also reported back in April that Hollywood actress Keira Knightley attended the venue to watch husband James Righton (30) perform with his band The Klaxons.

King Tuts tweeted at the time, "Not only did we have the amazing @klaxons in @kingtuts last night!

"We also had the lovely Keira Knightley! Top night! :)"

The venue gained a reputation in 1993 when The Verve, Radiohead and Oasis all took to the stage within a two week period.

This was the time Oasis were discovered and signed by the record label Creation.

Mull Historical Society's frontman Colin MacIntyre reportedly also said, "you haven't made it unless you've played Tut's."

And now it seems the venue is now gaining quite a few celebrity fans.

Davie added: "We get a few celebrities into the venue. Most of them are left alone and they just want to enjoy a gig."
