DAREDEVIL Renfrew-shire Provost Anne Hall is searching for four wing-walking heroes.

They will join her and 15 local people who are going to take part in an air display to raise cash for Help for Heroes, which supports wounded and injured servicemen and women.

The high flyers will travel at speeds of up to 135mph while strapped to the wing of a plane.

All 20 wing walkers will take to the air on Wednesday August 20 or Thursday August 21.

The remaining four spaces are available for the second day of the spectacle.

Ms Hall said: "The response has been overwhelming and I am calling for four more daring, big-hearted folk to join us in this amazing experience.

"Help for Heroes is an extremely worthwhile charity that raises much needed funds for our wounded and injured servicemen and women who have shown bravery and courage serving their country.

"In the year of the First World War centenary, I feel it is important to raise awareness of the good work Help for Heroes achieves for our armed forces."

The charity says while the war in Afghanistan may be nearly over, for those who have suffered life changing injuries, their battles are just beginning.

Help for Heroes is determined they will not fight those battles alone and wants to deliver a national network of support for the wounded and their families.

It aims to inspire and enable those who have made sacrifices on the country's behalf to achieve their full potential.

The charity has a number of recovery centres across the country and offers financial support to those with life-changing injuries or illnesses and their families.
