An 89-year-old former member of the Parachute Regiment has recreated the daring jump that he made 70 years ago today - D-Day - into enemy territory.
Jock Hutton's tandem jump came as hundreds of other D-Day veterans joined in commemorations of the anniversary of the landings in France that changed the course of the Second World War.
Mr Hutton, who grew up in Bridge of Weir, Renfrewshire, relived his experience of the invasion yesterday by dropping into the same field near Ranville, Normandy, along with 300 currently serving soldiers from Britain, Canada, the US and France.
He is one of the last surviving D-Day veterans from the 13th Battalion the Parachute Regiment and made the original jump, aged 19, on a moonlit night ahead of the main invasion force.
