The M8 came to a standstill this morning after a pedestrian wearing nothing but boxers shorts was spotted running across it.
Police raced to the scene shortly before 7am today on the M8 near Harthill and Shotts, and detained him after he caused a build up of traffic heading towards Edinburgh.
Police Scotland said: “We received reports at 6.53am this morning of a man walking on the live carriageway of the M8 close to Junction 5 eastbound at Shotts. Officers attended and a man has been detained.”
Investigations are underway.
