A MAN found growing cannabis plants in his garage has had almost £20,000 confiscated.
Naeem Amin, 42, pled guilty after he was found with 200 plants at his home in Ballantrae Crescent, Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire.
He was sentenced to one year and 10 months in prison.
At Paisley Sheriff Court yesterday, a confiscation order was made for the £19,000.
Lindsey Miller, procurator fiscal for Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism, said: "I hope this case sends a strong message to those cultivating cannabis on any scale.
"You will not only have the drugs confiscated and face time behind bars, but your entire financial history for six years prior to your arrest will be scrutinised."
