A WOMAN whose dog attacked a teenage girl and bit her on the breast escaped a jail sentence yesterday.
But Michelle Gibson, 51, was told that Skye, her German Shepherd, will be put down.
Sheriff John McCormack ordered the first offender to be placed under supervision for 18 months, and added: "You will be losing your pet dog."
Prosecutor John Bedford had earlier asked for and been granted an order for the destruction of the dog.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard the dog clamped its teeth on 19-year-old student Beattie McGuinness when she visited Gibson, a former neighbour.
The teenager said she was "shocked" and "scared" after the incident and believed she fainted.
Gibson, of Dumbarton Road, Glasgow, was convicted of owning a dog that was dangerously out of control.
