A CANCER survivor who carried out a £200,000 mortgage fraud has been jailed for a total of three years.
Alistair Fairlie took part in the con after lying that he was a £60,000-a-year business manager.
Fairlie was then able to snap up a flat in Glasgow city centre before later claiming he was the outright owner, enabling him to get his hands on a six-figure sum.
The 46 year-old was locked up after admitting to a fraud charge when he appeared at the city's sheriff court.
Fairlie - who latterly stayed in Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire - also admitted in court to getting around £5000 of goods fraudulently.
Sheriff Martin Jones QC told Fairlie: "Custody is necessary and the only appropriate sentence."
