ONCE completed, the Fastlink bus service will run from Buchanan Bus Station to the new South Glasgow Hospital.

The first section to operate will open before the Commonwealth Games, taking passengers from Broomielaw in the city centre to the SECC.

The remainder will open in time for the opening of the new hospital, west of Govan.

It will cross the 'Squinty Bridge' on dedicated central bus lanes and carry on along Pacific Quay and Govan Road to the Subway and bus interchange at Govan Cross, having priority at all junctions, before continuing to the hospital and a dedicated Fastlink transport hub.

The city centre loop section will link with the city's three main railway stations.

It will travel from Broomielaw north up Oswald Street and Hope Street to Central Station, east along West George Street past Queen Street Station and George Square before turning up North Hanover Street and left into Killermont Street at Buchanan Bus station.

On the way back it will travel down Renfield Street and Union Street to Central Station, where a Fastlink bus halt will be created, before rejoining the Broomielaw.
