A MAN has been airlifted to hospital after a serious road accident on Bute.
The 51-year-old cyclist was travelling along the A886 in the village of Port Bannatyne at 7.35pm yesterday when he lost control of his bike and crashed into a stationary car near the entrance to a boat yard.
The man was airlifted to Glasgow's Southern General Hospital and the road remained blocked for some time.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "The cyclist appears to have lost control of the bike. There does not look to be anyone else involved in the incident."
