A MAN died after his van collided in a head on crash with a lorry on a busy road.

At around 11.35am on Wednesday, a 58-year-old was travelling along Paisley's Sanderling Road in a white Ford transit minibus.

His vehicle, which was fitted with a trailer, crashed into an oncoming white HGV being driven by a 39-year-old man.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene to treat casualties.

The 58-year-old minibus driver was taken to the Southern General where he died shortly afterwards.

The 39-year-old HGV driver was uninjured during the collision, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Inquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of the crash.
