THESE winning children have drawn, painted and coloured their way into the 2015 calendar for the Yorkhill Children's Charity.

Each year youngsters from the Sick Kids' Hospital and primary schools are invited to design pictures to represent each month of the fundraising calendar.

And this year more entries than ever were received.

The 12 winners were chosen by Colin Murchie and Jason Miller, of calendar sponsors Central Car Auctions.

Mr Miller said: "To see the enthusiasm and artistic creativity that the children put into their submissions was fantastic.

"The standard was just so high.

"On a personal note, my young son was admitted to Yorkhill a couple of years ago.

"The attention he received was exemplary and my family and I are grateful for Yorkhill's assistance in bringing about a full and speedy recovery."

In 2013, more than 2000 calendars were sold to raise money for the work carried out by the hospital.

And this year the charity hopes to top that total.

Kirsten Sinclair, Head of Fundraising at Yorkhill Children's Charity, said: "We were delighted to receive a record number of entries to the calendar competition this year.

"It makes it even harder to choose just one winner for each month. The children really do put in a huge amount of effort, and their creativity is just amazing".

The charity has sold calendars featuring drawings from nurseries, schools and patients since 2009.

Money raised from sales of the calendar goes to the charity, which invests in initiatives that help to save or improve the lives of children attending Yorkhill Hospital and its related services.

Over the coming year the charity is committed to raising funds to be used for ground breaking, innovative projects to enhance and improve the facilities and services available at the new children's hospital at the Southern General.
