A Girl Guide from Glasgow has taken part in a major conference about violence against women.

Amy Callaghan, 16, from Broomhill, is a member of the charity's Advocate panel and was invited to speak out about everyday sexism, discrimination and pressures that affect girls.

The conference, in London, was organised by Yvette Cooper MP, Shadow Home Secretary.

Amy said: "I chose to go to the conference because the statistics for violence against women and girls are shocking, and it's an issue that affects or will affect the majority of women at some point, in one way or another."
