FAMILY and friends of a scout who died during an adventure holiday will gather together at a service to remember his life.
Elliot Peacock, 14, was killed in a gorge accident while on a trip at the Italian Alps.
The teenager, from Newton Mearns, was one of 40 Eastwood District Scouts enjoying a nine-day break when tragedy struck. On Friday, relatives and friends will celebrate his life during a special thanksgiving service at Newton Mearns Baptist Church.
The remembrance starts at 2.30pm and everyone who knew the youngster, who attended Eastwood High School, is welcome to attend.
Elliot's parents Colette and Scott paid tribute to their only child, calling him the "loveliest son we could possibly have wished for".
They said his "joyful presence will be missed so very much".
Elliot died on Sunday June 29 after he jumped into water at the Lillaz Falls, about 5000ft above sea level, in the Gran Paradiso National Park.
As the Evening Times previously reported, tributes have flooded in to the teenager, who was in S4 at school.
His friend James Hay, 14, said: "He was a really funny guy and he made everyone around him happy."
Donations if desired, instead of flowers, will go to Clyde Regional Scout Council at www.clydescouts. org.uk
