Celebrities, athletes and well-known faces have decended on Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games - and they don't want their legions of fans to miss a moment of the action as they selfie up their best poses for social media.

Gold medalist freestyle swimmer Rebecca Adlington made a splash as she posed for a picture with staff at Martha's in Glasgow city centre.

Rod Stewart seemed to lose his 'troosers' as he got caught up in the hype of performing at the opening ceremony at Celtic Park last night. He tweeted, "I never thought I'd be able to stand in the Celtic Board Room in front of the trophy case...with no pants."

The Queen accidentally photobombed and smiled for selfie with Australian hockey star Jayde Taylor.

She took the shot with a team mate and The Queen was seen smiling at the camera.

Sir Chris Hoy captured a selfie with actor James McAvoy during the opening ceremony at Celtic Park.

Reader Barry Scully spotted former decathlete Daley Thompson amongst the crowds at the triathlon today at Strathclyde Park.

Thompson won three Commonwealth titles.
