A man has been jailed for a minimum of 15 years for murdering his partner by repeatedly stabbing her during a drug and drink fuelled rage.

He then staying in the house in Glasgow city centre for five days with her body lying on the bathroom floor.

Andrew McKinlay, 39, had appeared at the High Court in Glasgow last month when he admitted murdering mother of three Josephine Steele in her home in Dobbie's Loan last October .

Sentence was deferred until yesterday at the High Court in Edinburgh for reports. He was given a life sentence.

The court had heard that after being with the body for five days, McKinlay bought air freshener and bleach to cover the smell from the decomposing body before moving to a friend's flat.

The body was not found until she was reported missing after failing to attend a medical appointment.
