A solicitor who racked up nine criminal convictions in a two and a half year period has escaped being struck off.

Colin MacLeod, 55, of Torbrex Road, Cumbernauld, admitted professional misconduct at the Scottish Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal.

It ordered him to spend the next five years working under supervision and in a limited capacity.
