A MAN was stabbed in broad daylight on a busy Glasgow street.
He is seriously ill after being knived in Tollcross Road on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency services rushed to the scene in Tollcross Road, after the alarm was raised at around 1.20pm.
It happened less than a mile from Commonwealth Games venue, Tollcross International Swimming Centre.
The victim was raced to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he is receiving treatment.
A massive police investigation has been launched and a large section of Tollcross Road has been cordoned off.
Uniformed officers and detectives were at scene this afternoon as the probe got under way.
Forensic officers were also carrying out investigations.
There is currently no description of the suspect available.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We can confirm at around 1.20pm today, a report was received of a male having been stabbed in Tollcross Road, Glasgow.
"He has been taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary. We are awaiting a medical update."
