GLASGOW is to fly the Palestinian flag tomorrow to show support for the people of Gaza.
The decision was revealed last night after Lord Provost Sadie Docherty wrote to Bethlehem city council, which is twinned with Glasgow.
In the letter to Bethlehem mayor Vera Baboun, Mrs Docherty wrote that Glasgow has "heartfelt sympathy to the people of Gaza" and added: "Glasgow is home to many friends of Palestine and this is a deeply distressing time for them."
Political figures welcomed the decision including the city's SNP leader Susan Aitken, who also called for the council to provide more support to the people of Gaza.
