Baby owls Ant and Dec have proved a big hit since making their debut at a safari park.

The owlets at Blair Drummond Safari Park near Stirling are burrowing birds native to the United States.

Despite being able fliers they spend much of their time running around in search of insects and taking cover in underground burrows.

Head of birds at Blair Drummond, Neil Davies, said: "They have been an instant hit. The audience just love them.

"Their daily care is under the watchful eye of (colleague) Laura Downie and it is her responsibility to train and care for these amazing little guys.

"Each day Laura takes the two owls home as they require constant feeding and care. Listening to her reports on their progress, they are slowly taking over her house with their antics as they run around her living room."

Blair Drummond was this week named the tenth most popular zoo in the UK by travel website TripAdvisor, with Chester Zoo taking the top spot.

Ant and Dec are scheduled to appear daily at the 2.15pm bird show, weather permitting.
