FOOTBALL may be in line for a boost in Renfrewshire if councillors approve the appointment of a new development officer.
The SFA and the council have teamed up to create the post.
Councillors will consider the proposal at a meeting of the Sport, Leisure and Culture Policy Board on Thursday.
If appointed, the football development officer will spend the next 18 months helping to extend the existing School of Football, based at Castlehead High School.
Councillor James Harte, convener of policy board, said: "This new post would also complement the new £300,000, 3G pitch being built at Castlehead and the work already being done there through the School of Football."
In 2008, Castlehead High became one of the first SFA Schools of Football and is one of only nine in the country.
