GLASGOW Lord Provost Sadie Docherty has thrown herself in at the deep end and taken the ice bucket challenge.
The city's first citizen opted for the most high- profile location she could think of for her soaking - George Square at lunchtime.
Dressed in a t-shirt, leggings and her ceremonial gold chain she submitted to being drenched by two wine buckets of freezing water.
The game councillor, who has nominated three of her colleagues, then picked up the basin of chilly water she had sat with her feet in and threw it over her head.
Mrs Docherty will make a donation to Unicef, the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Charity.
To support the Lord Provost in her ice bucket challenge, text DONATE to 70020 to gift £5 to UNICEF.
