A man accused of kidnapping and raping a woman in Glasgow almost a decade ago has agreed to be extradited following his arrest in Spain.
The man, who has only been identified by Spanish authorities as having the initials N.V.K.B. and who has Pakistani nationality, was detained in Barcelona last weekend by detectives from the National Police on an international warrant issued in Scotland.
He is alleged to have kidnapped a woman and raped her twice on August 28, 2005.
Following his arrest he was taken to the Spanish capital Madrid, and appeared at a closed door hearing at the National Criminal Court which handles all extradition cases in the country.
When he was asked by investigating judge Eloy Velasco if he was prepared to return to the UK to face British justice he replied that he would not fight extradition.
He is expected to be escorted back to Britain within a matter of days.
