3 Aberdeen: The Granite City is the third-largest city, with more than 220,000 people.
4 Dundee: The smallest of the "top four" cities, it has a population of 147,000.
5 Paisley: 76,000 inhabitants give it the distinction of being Scotland's largest town.
6 East Kilbride: The Lanarkshire town is not far behind with 74,000 people.
7 Livingston: The West Lothian town has a population of 56,000.
8 Hamilton: The old county town of Lanarkshire is home to 53,000 people.
9 Cumbernauld: Just behind Hamilton, on 52,000.
10 Kirkcaldy: The Fife town boasts a population of 49,000.
