POLICE are scouring Glasgow for a prisoner who absconded from Cornton Vale in Stirlingshire.
Amy Stewart, 31, was allowed out on licence for a week but failed to keep in touch with prison staff.
She was instructed to return to the prison on Sunday June 28, but did not return.
The prisoner is not thought to pose a risk to the public.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said officers are now “carrying out enquiries” in Glasgow, West Lothian and Stirlingshire as they try to find Stewart.
Superintendent Kenneth Macleod said: “We are currently looking to trace Amy Stewart, who is missing from Cornton Vale, and are currently working with our colleagues at the Scottish Prison Service to locate her.
“We would like to emphasise that Stewart is not considered to be a risk to the public at this time. Nevertheless we are keen to see her returned to Cornton Vale as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101.
