A seagull has had a lucky escape after the one o'clock gun was fired at Edinburgh Castle.
The moment was captured and put on YouTube by tourists who were in the castle to witness the tradition.
The seagull appeared in the firing line before flying off to safety.
The clip has had thousands of views since it was posted on YouTube on June 30.
The one o'clock gun is fired every day at Edinbrugh Castle except Sundays.
The tradition began in 1861 to provide ships in the Firth of Forth with an audible time signal to accompany the visual signal of the time-ball dropping at the top of Nelson Monument.
