SCOTRAIL has released details of timetable changes due to come into force this weekend as Sunday services are slashed by a third.

The move is down to train drivers being unavailable due to ongoing negotiations about their pay.

Glasgow Central – Ardrossan Harbour

Passenger should take Largs trains and change at Ardrossan South Beach. Buses replace trains between Ardrossan South Beach and Ardrossan Harbour, timed to connect with ferries.

Glasgow Central – Wemyss Bay

Customers should take trains to/from Gourock and change at Greenock Central. Buses replace trains between Greenock Central and Wemyss Bay, timed to connect with ferries. Passengers for Whinhill should use Greenock Central or Cartsdyke instead.

Glasgow Central – Stranraer

Passengers can use services from Glasgow to Ayr, with connecting trains to Stranraer.

Glasgow Central – Paisley Canal

Replacement buses will operate.

Glasgow Central – Lanark / Motherwell

Passengers may use Glasgow to Lanark trains instead.

Partick – Cumbernauld

Customers should travel on Helensburgh – Edinburgh services, and change at Bellgrove. Buses replace trains between Bellgrove and Cumbernauld.

Balloch – Larkhall

Customers for Larkhall should change at Hamilton Central for connecting buses. Note: Balloch/Milngavie – Motherwell trains will run.

Glasgow Queen St – Elgin (direct)

Glasgow – Inverness will operate normally so passengers should travel on these services. Buses will operate between Inverness – Elgin.

Glasgow Queen St – Anniesland

Replacement buses will operate.

Services with reduced frequency / part-route changes

Glasgow Central – Ayr: hourly service calling at all stations

Glasgow Central – Neilston: hourly service

Glasgow Central – Newton: hourly via Maxwell Park

Glasgow Central – East Kilbride: hourly (includes Thorntonhall)

Edinburgh – Glenrothes via Kirkcaldy: 4 trains per day in each direction plus 2 trains between Edinburgh and Kirkcaldy.

Edinburgh – Glenrothes via Dunfermline: 7 trains per day in each direction
