AN exhibition has opened bringing together stories, memorabilia and photographs celebrating St Mirren FC.

'Back of the Net: A Fan’s View"will run from Friday July 3 until Sunday 16 August.

It presents a history of Paisley’s premier football team from a fan’s perspective; documenting both the highs and the lows of the club’s 138 year legacy and giving loyal supporters the chance to have their memories retold.

Preparations for 'Back of the Net' began earlier this year when we appealed to Saints fans to donate their stories, photographs and memorabilia to start to build a picture of the club’s sporting history.

Items on display include players’ medals from a variety of tournaments, signs saved from Love Street stadium – home ground to the club for 115 years - boots worn by goalkeeper Ludovic Roy in the 90s and an original strip worn by player Alistair Millar when St Mirren emerged victorious in the 1959 Scottish Cup final.

'Back of the Net' also proudly displaya the Barcelona Cup which was won in 1922 in a tense tournament final against Notts County. The cup has been kindly loaned by the club for the duration of the exhibition.

On display in the temporary gallery at Paisley Museum, 'Back of the Net' will focus on the following areas of the club’s history, as seen through the fans’ eyes:
