[POLICE are appealing for information about a 63-year-old Ayrshire man missing since Sunday.

Joseph McAlees was last seen by family at his home in Kilwinning at 4.30pm when he left to visit relatives in Greenock.

He is known to take medication and it is not known if he has it with him.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said his family were very worried and there was 'growing concern' for his wellbeing.

He is described as being around 5 ft 8 ins tall, and of medium build with short hair and glasses.

When last seen he was wearing a pale blue Adidas jacket, jeans and black Nike trainers. He also wore a blue Adidas back pack and black hold-all.

Inspector Jim McMillan, of Irvine police, said: "It is out of character for Joseph not to be in touch with his family. He has never gone missing before and given the fact that no-one has seen or heard from him concern for his wellbeing is growing. I am appealing to anyone who may have any information as to where Joseph may be is asked to contact us.”
