GLASGOW Warriors today confirmed that a covered all-seater West Stand will be installed next season following a rise in demand for season ticket seats.

The stand, which will replace the standing terrace, comes after more than 4000 members signed up for the seats.

There were 3500 members in total at Scotstoun last season.

Glasgow Warriors managing director Nathan Bombrys said: "We've taken the decision to install a fully seated West Stand following huge demand for season tickets and clear feedback from our supporters that they want more seats.

"The new stand will allow us to provide our supporters with more seats for season ticket memberships and will put our regular capacity at around 6,600 for home matches next season.

"It's great news that we'll once again have a record number of season ticket members and we'd like to thank our members for their fantastic support.

"We've exceeded 4,000 members for the first time in the club's history and with the continued demand and additional seats now in place, it would be great if we could have 5,000 season ticket members watching Glasgow Warriors games at Scotstoun next season.”

Supporters who have already purchased standing season ticket memberships in the west terrace have been contacted directly and offered the best available seats in the West Stand.

Season ticket seats in the West Stand will go on general sale at 2pm on Monday and can be purchased online from glasgowwarriors.org and from the ticket office on 0844 800 3490 or 0844 847 2357, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, Wednesday 10am-5pm.

Season ticket memberships include all 14 games at Scotstoun for the price of nine, including the three European Rugby Champions Cup games against Northampton Saints, Scarlets and Racing 92.
