A MAN has been taken to hospital after he was found injured in a cemetery in Greenock.
Police were called to the grounds of Greenock cemetery at around 8pm on Thursday evening.
The man was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital. His condition is unknown.
Numerous police cars, detectives, a police dog handler and a helicopter have been involved.
Officers have sealed off the cemetery in the town's South Street while enquiries continue.
In a statement, Police Scotland said: "At around 8pm on Thursday July 30, Police Scotland responded to reports of a man apparently injured in the grounds of Greenock Cemetery in South Street, Greenock.
"Officers located the injured man, and he was taken to Inverclyde Royal Infirmary. Officers are still at the scene."
