DETECTIVES hunting a notorious Glasgow criminal are following up new lines of inquiry after a nationwide television appeal.
Martin Hamilton, 54, has been on the run for more than three months.
Millions of viewers watched a special appeal on BBC's Crimewatch programme on Tuesday night.
Police Scotland confirmed they received information about Hamilton following the show and are "working their way through the details".
The 54-year-old from Anderston is described by officers as "dangerous".
During the show, it was also revealed the criminal uses the alias Martin Sullivan.
He was jailed for life in 2000 and released from prison in September 2014.
However, police say he has since allegedly breached the terms of his licence and is on the run.
The fugitive appeared on Crimewatch's Wanted Faces list last night.
Presenter Martin Bayfield said: "He was released from prison last year, but is now wanted back inside.
"He was 54 last week and is known to be dangerous.
"Please don't approach him, just call 999."
Viewers with information were urged to call the incident room in Glasgow on 0141 532 4756.
Crimestoppers is offering a £2000 reward in a bid to catch him.
Angela Parker, national manager for Crimestoppers Scotland, said: "We believe that Hamilton may be dangerous and it is imperative that he is found as soon as possible."
Investigations are also continuing to trace Krzysztof Zalewaki, who may be in Glasgow.
The 32-year-old was accused of sexual activity with a 13-year-old child.
He was found guilty in his absence and sentenced to seven years behind bars.
Police in Leicester said they received a "number of calls" following the appeal and are following up on potential leads.
