A man who collapsed while watching his team play football has died.

As reported earlier by the Evening Times, the elderly man was watching Petershill FC play Shettleston last night when he fell to the ground.

It is understood he had suffered a heart attack, and fans watched in horror as Shettleston goalkeeper Bryn Halliwell tried to save him.

Paramedics arrived at the Petershill home ground in Springburn around 7pm and took the man to the GRI, but he later passed away.

Albert Moffat, chairman at Petershill FC, said his death was a “tragedy” and said the man had been “a loyal member” of the club.
