THE world's top street dancers descend on Glasgow for a £10,000 cash bonanza.

The two day UDO World Street Dancing Championships will be held this weekend at the SECC.

The event brings together the best 28 street dancing groups with one of them taking the top £10,000 prize.

There will also be an attempt on the Guinness World Record for the number of hand hops.

World-renowned break dancer Victor Mengarelli will attempt to break the current world record for the greatest number of consecutive jumps or hops while standing on one hand.

The current record stands at 133 times.

Victor previously achieved this record in 2007 with 93 consecutive hand hops.

Celebrities such as former JLS member Aston Merrygold, former X Factor star Jake Quickenden and dance duo Twist and Pulse will all perform at the event, later they will meet and greet fans and participants.

Sunday will see Dance Show Live which will celebrate all styles of dance.

UDO will also give any street dance groups the chance to enter its ‘Nation’s Best Dance Act 2015.’

The over 18 group has the chance to win the top prize; the group that comes runner-up will receive a £2500 prize. The winner of the under 18 advanced team will go home with £1500 and the runner-up will take home £750.

Under 14 and under 10 advanced team winners will take home £30 each.

The event will also stage hip hop battles in the 1vs1 category and the double categories where each of them can win £150 and free entry to any other UDO event that the organisation stage in the future.

Tomorrow's opening ceremony takes place at 7.30pm

It will be the third time the event has been staged at the conference centre; at the same time the street dance company will celebrate its 10th anniversary.

UDO has confirmed its next three yearly championships will be hosted at the SECC.
