TRAFFIC restrictions are to be put in place in the West End to allow Scottish Water to improve the sewer network.

A short stretch of road will be reduced from two lanes to one in Bellshaugh Road and Bellshaugh Gardens and temporary traffic lights installed on Bellshaugh Road, Bellshaugh Gardens and Balcarres Avenue.

Scottish Water is advising road users of some road traffic management in the Kelvinside area of Glasgow to enable some investigative work to be carried out ahead of planned investment in our waste water network.

We have identified the need for improvements to our infrastructure in the Bellshaugh Road area to reduce the frequency of spills from Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs) into the River Kelvin during prolonged heavy rainfall.

Contractors Environmental Scientific Group (ESG) will be carrying out ground investigations in Bellshaugh Road from about September 7 for about four weeks.

During this time, there will be a short stretch of road reduced from two lanes to one in Bellshaugh Road and Bellshaugh Gardens and temporary traffic lights installed on Bellshaugh Road, Bellshaugh Gardens and Balcarres Avenue.

Scottish Water thanks affected road users in advance for their patience and understanding during this work and apologises for any inconvenience. We will do everything possible to minimise any disruption.
