Police are appealing for information after a teenager was seriously assaulted on Victoria Road in the Govanhill Area of Glasgow yesterday.
At around 9.50pm on Saturday, August 29, police and emergency services were called to a report of a 19-year-old man having been attacked by a group of men on Victoria Road between Coplaw Street and Cuthbertson Street.
The victim sustained a serious facial injury in the assault and was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was released following treatment.
The suspects are described as Asian men, aged between 15 and 25, wearing dark clothing.
Detective Constable Mark Hendry from Cathcart CID said:
“This was a serious incident whereby one man was attacked by a large group of men resulting in injuries requiring medical treatment.
“Enquiries are currently ongoing and we are continuing to analyse available CCTV. Victoria Road will have still been busy at the time the incident took place and I would ask anyone who saw what happened to contact police immediately.
“Anyone with information can call police at Cathcart on 101 or CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where all calls will be kept anonymous.”
