POLICE are hunting a gang who attacked a man in Clydebank.

The 27-year-old was targeted shortly before 5am on Sunday as he walked in Queen Mary Avenue.

He was assaulted by three men and rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

The suspects are described as white, in their early 20s, of average height and wearing light coloured hooded tops.

Detective Sergeant Stuart Gillies said: "This was a random and unprovoked attack which left the victim with serious injuries.

"Officers are conducting enquiries in the area including examining CCTV and speaking to local residents.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious to contact police via the 101 number."
