Alcohol stocks from The Arches is being offloaded in an online auction which closes at midday.

The arts venue went into administration in June following a decision by the Glasgow Licensing Board to curtail the licensed hours.

Sweeney Kincaid Industrial Auctioneering has posted a catalogue of booze which is said to include “Spirits, Liqueurs, Wines, Cava, Beers, Lagers, Cider and Alcopops”.

The administrators are also hoping to attract bids for “Soft Drinks, Energy Drinks, Bottled Water and Post Mix Syrup”.

A picture gallery of the lots have also been posted under the heading ‘very short notice of sale’.

It adds: “Being sold under the instructions of the administrators of Arches Theatre (in administration) and Arches Retail Company Limited (in administration).”

The online auction closes today at noon.

When the company was put into administration, Gordon Kennedy, Chairman of The Arches Board of Directors, said he’d been “left with no other choice”.

He added: “This decision has been taken with deep regret as it will have a major impact on our staff, business partners, customers, and on Glasgow's reputation for night time economy.”
