POLICE have launched a murder bid probe after a man, 55, was stabbed in the South Side.
The incident happened around 9.40pm yesterday at Carmichael Place in Battlefield.
Officers were called to reports of an injured man in a close on the south side street, near to Battlefield Primary School.
It is believed he may have been delivering a chinese take-away.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University hospital for treatment, and medical staff have described his condition as stable.
A police Scotland spokeswoman said: " Around 9.40pm police received a report that a man had been injured within a close in Carmichael Place.
"The 55-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University hospital where he is receiving treatment for stab wounds.
"Medical staff describe his condition his condition as stable.
"Officers are treating the incident as attempted murder and enquiries are continuing."
