MURDER squad detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a man in Cumbernauld.
The man, who has not been formally identified, was found in Glenhove Road around midnight last night after police received reports of a disturbance.
He died at the scene
A post mortem will now be carried out to establish the cause of death, but officers are treating it as suspicious.
A Police spokeswoman said: "Around 12 midnight on Thursday October 1 police were called to a report of a disturbance on Glenhove Road, Cumbernauld.
"Officers attended, and a man was found with serious injuries.
"Sadly, he died at the scene.
"A post mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death, however the death is being treated as suspicious at this time.
"Officers are conducting door to door enquiries in the local area of Glenhove Road, and are reviewing all available CCTV in an effort to ascertain the circumstances of the incident.
"Anyone who may have any information is asked to contact police on 101."
