A body recovered from a burn in Glasgow has been confirmed as that of a man who went missing more than seven weeks ago.
George McCarrick, 31, from the Pollok area of the city, was last seen in mid-August and was reported missing by his family the following month.
Police Scotland said the body of a man recovered from the Brock Burn in Darnley on the morning of Monday September 28 has been identified as Mr McCarrick's. His family have been told of the discovery.
Following a post-mortem examination, officers are treating the death as "unexplained" and inquiries into the circumstances are being carried out.
