A shotgun and ammunition have been stolen after a break-in at a rural property.
The incident happened in the Anguston area of Peterculter in Aberdeen between 7am and 6.30pm on Monday.
Electrical items were also taken, Police Scotland said.
Detective inspector Stephen Beattie said: "Inquiries are at an early stage and we would urge anyone who may have seen anything unusual or suspicious in the area over the course of the last few days to contact us.
"We would also ask members of the public to remain vigilant and report anything that concerns them."
